Ystrad Taf Fechan Hunt

Teddys 077

The Hunt was formed in 1996 from the amalgamation of the Taf Fechan formed in the early 1960's, and the Ystrad, reformed after the 1939-45 war. Both were originally farmers' packs.

The country which is in Glamorgan and Powys is mountain with large areas of forestry plantations on either side of the valleys to the north of Pontypridd. It includes the foothills of the Brecon Beacons to the north of the A465. Heads of the Valleys road - rugged and high (2,900 feet) open country.

The hunt is primarily a farmer’s pack and has members from all walks of life. We like to encourage new members and followers to join in with our fun regardless of age or background. Throughout the year we hold various fund raising events such as showjumping, hunter trials, horse and dog shows and other social events.

If you are interested in joining in with any aspects of our hunt, whether it be the actual hunting itself or helping with fund raising events please do not hesitate to contact one of the hunt officials.
